The popular Mapy.cz service has undergone a major transformation – it has changed its name to Mapy.com and expanded to international markets. Behind the slight name change lie months of work. The popular mapping application Mapy.cz is entering a new, global era. In order to assist millions of users worldwide, it is expanding its reach and gradually moving to the Mapy.com domain. The application will thus become more accessible to users from all over the world, while continuing to improve the quality and user experience to which Czech users are accustomed.

You’ve been using it for free the whole time, and of course that won’t change. But the operation and the team require an investment of hundreds of millions of crowns. Adding a new paid version will allow us to bring you an even better Mapy.cz, expanding features while minimizing the annoying advertising you don’t like.
Thanks to its corporate membership, the Czech mapping application is now actively supporting the development of OpenStreetMap. The project is one of the key sources of open data that Mapy.cz relies on.
The Czech internet leader has opened its third data centre. The new building was added to the existing data centre in Horní Počernice, which was commissioned in 2015. The implementation took exactly one year and was carried out in cooperation with Metrostav and the general contractor, Altron.
